A spicy mix of folk and acoustic music, much of which is connected to the American south, including (but not limited to) acoustic blues, Texas folk, Cajun, string band & Texas swing.
Hosted by Diane Karl, past shows available on the KBOO program page at https://kboo.fm/program/early-morning-gumbo.
Since we can‘t sing at our beloved Armory, we‘re going to start doing online sings via Zoom.
Zoom Pub Sing - every second Thursday
Bucket Brigade Pub Sing - every fourth Tuesday (no longer uses Zoom)
Sponsored by Greater Boston Traditional Song
We are starting up in-person sing arounds, but Golden Link will still be hosting virtual sing-arounds on Zoom.
Virtual sing arounds actually provide some advantages over in-person sing arounds as well. We‘ve seen participation from people around the United States and around the world. Even for people who live close by, sometimes travel to our in-person sing arounds can be an impediment to attending, especially on work nights. So, due to the success of the current Zoom sing arounds, we plan to continue the virtual sing arounds in addition to the in-person sing arounds even when things return to normal. This would allow many more people to participate than we see in our in-person sing arounds.
Jan 15 (Tue): virtual sing around, Leader: David Russell
Jan 22 (Tue): virtual sing around, Leader: Janice Hanson
Jan 29 (Tue): virtual sing around, Leader: Sue Hengelsberg
Feb 5 (Tue): virtual sing around, Leader: Jeff Stewart
Feb 12 (Tue): virtual sing around, Leader: Nikki Roosa
Pat Pauly
MEETING TIME:
4:15 pm - Open to connect
4:30 pm - Sing-around begins
We are excited to present another virtual community event that will once again bring us together in friendship and song. Every second Tuesday, George Mattson will lead a virtual song circle where you "bring your own song."
This is a great opportunity for acoustic musicians who want to try out songs they are working on before an audience of their peers. Songs can be either original compositions or covers. You pick, we listen!... all are welcome.
As you enter the sing-around you will be assigned a number by one of our meeting hosts. The session leader will start the event with a song and then call on the guests individually.

Previous shows available on the KBOO program page: https://kboo.fm/program/pastures-plenty.
Hosted Wednesdays and Fridays by Jeremy Harmer, who is based in Cambridge UK, performers – on instruments ranging from guitar (of course!) fiddle, harp. accordion, whistle, bodhran, concertina, dulcimer, Northumbrian pipes, all sorts of percussion and lots more (and a real bird!) – sing and play their hearts out in a magical atmosphere of mutual appreciation and support.
Trad & Irish song session.
Email maureenmcnally6(at)gmail.com for Zoom link.
Every Wednesday, John hosts a free, live “Taking Time” slow session on Zoom. The session starts at 4pm Pacific time/7pm Eastern/midnight GMT, and regularly draws attendees from around the world.
Players and listeners of all levels are very welcome to enjoy playing or hearing favorite tunes at a comfortable tempo, along with the all-important warmth of connection that shared music brings into our lives, even — or rather, especially — now.
This is also a great opportunity for learning new tunes, as everybody but the session leader (John) will be muted while they play. Unlike an in-person session you can noodle along to your heart’s content, and nobody will ever know unless you tell them.
John sends out the Zoom link and tune list to his newsletter subscribers every week, usually on Tuesday evening (Pacific time), so please make sure to sign up for his email newsletter so you can join in.
