Don Ross Fingerstyle Workshop, $75, includes lesson, hands-on instruction, and membership discounts.
In order to get the best out of this workshop, students should at least be able to play at an intermediate level - make chord changes with a smooth sense of timing, the basics of fingerstyle techniques, and some fretting hand independence. Music theory knowledge not needed. Intermediate through advanced welcome.
You will need to bring your own instrument as well as a pen and journal for note taking

We believe great things happen when we play tunes together! People connect with each other and make friends, and we keep our music traditions alive by sharing tunes and passing them on. What’s more, playing tunes can make you feel happy, and if you do it often enough, you’ll notice that you are getting better at playing your instrument too!
It turns out that you don’t even have to be in the same place…great things still happen when we play music together, online from the comfort of your own home.
Phoenix Folk Ltd exists to promote participation and performance in folk and acoustic music, song and dance across the North East of England. We aim to be a friendly face of folk music, to help keep alive the great traditions of folk music and to encourage talent and personal musical development.
Everyone is muted, which means that you hear your own instrument, completing a trio with our fiddle and guitar. You can play the tune, or try some harmony!

Take advantage of the weekly lesson for beginners at 7 pm, and then stay for the dance ‘til 9:30. Instructors rotate weekly and each brings their own curated playlist of classic and contemporary zydeco and Cajun music. Zydeco, two-step, waltz, blues, swing.
Admission is a teensy bit higher to cover the cost of the new venue, but it‘s still a bargain! $7 for members of Cascade Zydeco and $12 for nonmembers.
Doors open at 6:30 pm, dance lesson 7-7:30 pm, DJ music & dancing until 9:30 pm.

Communities across the Appalachian mountains in Western North Carolina and East Tennessee are struggling to recover after the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene. Join us in an evening to raise funds to support these communities and help folks put the pieces back together. The evening will feature a concert by the Horsenecks as well as an auction featuring musical experiences, baked goods and artwork.

Artichoke Community Music
Christopher Worth live at The Artichoke, $18 advance/$20 door (doors open at 6:30).
Christopher Worth is known for his unique blend of bohemian blues, a style he developed as a street performer across the US and Europe. His latest album, Pardon Me, concludes The Identity Triptych, a trilogy exploring self-love, romance, and transcendence through folk and R&B. Produced by Steve Berlin, Pardon Me features melodic songwriting, a unique depth of lyricism, and Worth’s powerful vocals.
Following the trilogy’s completion, Worth collaborated with David Jacobs-Strain in the duo Worth & Strain (Rhududu Sessions Vol‘s I & II) and with Acoustic Minds on the six-track EP Sliver (released October 2023). Sliver, recorded live in one day, focuses on intimate, minimalist production, highlighting themes of loss and love, supported by rich vocal harmonies. Worth & Strain are slated to release their first full length album, Xavanadu, in late November 2024.
We are excited to host Portland Bluegrass Sunday Jam every 2nd and 4th Sundays (and 5th when it happens) at Artichoke, $5 cover at the door.
This is a live, in-person, and open Bluegrass jam from 1-4 pm. Acoustic only please, and all levels of experience welcome.
