The final 2026 Sisters Folk Festival acts have landed! The full lineup features 33 diverse acts from all over the world, redefining what folk music really means, all ages welcome.

With the incredible talents of Tommy Emmanuel, the energetic rhythms of Ozomatli, the heartfelt storytelling of Brandy Clark, the folk melodies of John Gorka, and MANY more musical giants, this year‘s lineup is shaping up to be one for the books.

Sisters Folk Festival, where "All The Town’s A Stage," is an immersive experience in music and community. It is an intimate, multi-genre festival that puts great artists on seven stages throughout the charming mountain town of Sisters, Oregon.

Founded in 1995 and with 28 years of unforgettable festivals behind us, Sisters Folk Festival is where a small town, friendly vibe meets world-class musicians and production in a picturesque setting. We‘re proud to bring high profile and lesser-known artists, songwriters, and bands together to perform in intimate settings, including expansive tents, a historic church, and courtyard venues at local restaurants.

At SFF we have a long-standing history of cultivating a listening atmosphere, combined with an understanding that folks need to have a good time. Attendees can expect a unique and transformative festival experience beyond fantastic live music.

This is a monthly Cajun music workshop held each month in the Community Room at the Kennedy School every 4th Sunday from 1:30-3 pm, free, all ages.

Want to play Cajun music? Already play fiddle, accordion or guitar? Struggling to make progress, or can‘t get started on your own? Come to this class and learn the simple songs that drive this fascinating but challenging style of music.

We‘ll sing, play and practice traditional tunes, turns and chords by ear. All experience levels welcome.

The Electric Campfire Acoustic Jam - every LAST Sunday of the month, free, all ages.

This is an interactive come and go song circle. We provide instruments (piano, guitars, bass, small assorted hand-held instruments, etc.) or you can bring your own acoustic instrument.

We have free refreshments including some wine and beer or you can bring your own. Nothing for sale.

Everyone encouraged to participate. We are vaccinated but we don‘t require anyone else to be.

They have a loyal following in the UK and have been making their mark on the U.S. folk scene as well, with appearances at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Kate Wolf Music Festival, and AmericanaFest, along with official showcases at Folk Alliance conferences.

Portland Blues and Jazz Dance Society & Cascade Zydeco Present Fifth Tuesday Night Blues & Zydeco.

Zydeco and Blues are kissing cousins so please come join our 5th Tuesday partnership with Portland Blues and Jazz (PB&J).

Following the lessons, come dance to Frottoir a’ Trois, the acoustic trio of our friends from Too Loose; Jennifer Smieja, Lefty Head and Steve Kerin. The playlist will be a gumbo of blues, zydeco, Cajun, swamp pop and waltzes.

The philosophy of PB&J is to make social dancing inclusive for all. This opportunity is rich with potential to dance with new friends and old. Please join us.

Open bluegrass jam at Tomorrow‘s Verse Taproom and Bottle Shop. Come join the jam every Tuesday with host Rich Landar. All levels of pickers are welcome to join in on the fun.

Don‘t play? Come listen! This will be a traditional style bluegrass circle, where people can join in as much as they‘d like.

If you would like to build your old-time music repertoire while meeting and playing with others, then this class is for you. Tier Pricing: $80-300.

We meet for eight weeks and learn six old-time tunes and songs. Get group instruction on fiddle, clawhammer banjo, or guitar (basses, ukulele, and mandolin players may join the fiddle or guitar sections with advance approval).

We start each lesson in a large group, and the instructors play the tune we will work on that evening. Then, we slow it down and all sing the melody together to learn it by ear. We separate into different classrooms for group lessons on each instrument. Finally, we come back together and play the tune all together.

At the fourth meeting, we review the first three tunes and focus on harmony singing. For the final class meeting, we will meet early for a big community dinner and will play all the tunes we have learned during the session. In addition to class meetings, enrolled students will have access to source recordings, demonstration videos, guitar chord charts, and banjo tabs for each tune we teach.

Instructors are Maggie Lind – clawhammer banjo, Patrick Lind – guitar, Sophie Enloe –fiddle. Bass, ukulele, and mandolin players are welcome.

Previous experience on your instrument is required. If you are playing in the fiddle or banjo sections, you should be able to play several tunes in G/A and D/C tunings and be fairly comfortable picking out melody notes by ear, and we are working on developing this skill as well. Guitarists should have a capo, be familiar with the following open position chords: A, C, D, E, F, G, and be able to play the bass note/after strum or “boom chuck” technique.

We ask that you be vaccinated and up to date on your boosters to attend class. Please do not come to class if you are sick or experiencing any cold, flu, or COVID symptoms.

Rosine is a Nashville-based Americana/folk duo, $28.36 advance/ $28.60 at the door (prices include service fees). Rosine is exploring and cultivating a soundscape that relies on the emotive potential of acoustic instruments to showcase original songs. Its members, Forrest and Meredith Lane O’Connor, have each dedicated their lives to performing new music, and despite hailing from opposite sides of the country, their shared vision of what folk writing could look like a quarter-way into the 21st century prompted them to join forces in late 2025. In 2015, Forrest co-founded the O’Connor Band with his father, fiddler Mark O’Connor; Forrest wrote several songs, including the title track, for the O’Connor Band’s first album Coming Home, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Bluegrass Albums Chart and won a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album. It was during an O’Connor Band tour nearly a decade ago that Forrest first met Meredith in her small hometown of Enterprise, Oregon, where she would go on to develop a strong following thanks to her vocal and songwriting prowess.

Tony Becker of San Jose, California and Mark Wallis of Gloucester, England host this Transatlantic session for all interested parties on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM UK time. For American visitors, please note we are now all on standard ‘winter‘ time, so that is 12:00 PM Pacific in the USA.

Open to all who play traditional Irish music and It has the obvious limitations of Zoom in that only one musician can play at a time. But we go round the ‘room’ and take it in turns - no pressure though and the baton can be passed if you just want to listen. We just play for a couple of hours.

On a good day we have a variety of instruments from pipes to Melodeon, banjo to fiddle and it can be a good way to pick up tunes. It is very friendly and we welcome everyone. The only criterion is we try to stick to Irish traditional.

Portland Songwriters Guild (PSG) presents: The Bridge with Joel Harris, Burke Ward Wallace, and Abigail Borrell.

The Bridge is a monthly songwriter showcase hosted by Kyle J. Glenn designed to create meaningful connection between artists and audience, advance tickets $12.87 including service fee (doors open at 6:30 pm).

Joel Harris
A singer/songwriter who makes music that reflects the wonder and mystery of being human. Growing up in between the ocean, mountains and desert, his songs are inspired by the landscape, and his place in relationship to it.

Burke Ward Wallace
Burke blends somber guitar picking with a tenor range that surprises in volume. Writing original songs since he was 14 years old, he is honored to be one of this month‘s featured songwriters and hopes that the PDX crowd will enjoy his originals.

Abigail Borrell
Abigail Borrell is a singer-songwriter drawn to stories about love, memory, family, and the strange way our past follows us into the present.

For those who already know and support the artists, it is also an opportunity to hear their work in a quieter, more intentional room where lyrics land, dynamics breathe and the songs can be experienced fully.

For listeners, The Bridge offers audiences a chance to discover emerging songwriters in an intimate setting built for listening.

Just $10/week for the Winds of Donegal classes. Every Thursday we teach you the basics of the three‘s, seven‘s and jig steps so that you can enjoy the live music ceilis around Portland and Ireland. Classes are geared toward 13 and older. Bring a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes not heels.

NEW VENUE: This month‘s Soiree will be held at the inspiring Rae Lofts in the central east side. This is an amazing venue, with a full bar and cafe. And all ages! There will be space to lounge as usual, sit or dance. Full sound system, piano provided as usual!

This class is for beginner-ish and intermediate violin and fiddle players who want a chance to play their favorite songs with others in a supportive setting. At the start of this series the instructor will present 10 tunes in the genres of folk, jazz, bluegrass, Irish, blues, pop and/or classical. Students will vote in three of these tunes to work on over the course of the term.

The Oregon Oldtime Fiddlers‘ Association (OOTFA) is a nonprofit organization with representation across the nation. As our motto states, the organization is dedicated to the perpetuation and promotion of oldtime music. Oldtime music is loosely defined as that played on traditional instruments dating from the first half of the 20th century. Many of the tunes we play date from the 18th century and even earlier.

Tune Explorer Sessions are a collaborative effort between MÓD and the TrailJams Community and consist of weekly slow & learning sessions for musician s who are just starting to build repertoire and skill, or are building proficiency on an instrument.

JT Wise Trio featuring JT, Maggie and Ken at the Old Apple Tree Festival just east of the Interstate bridge. The apple tree turns 200 years old! The family friendly festival is 11-3 pm. We perform 2-3 pm.

Urban and country blues with R&B, soul, jazz, zydeco and classic rock, every Saturday from 5-7 pm.

We open up a "room" on Zoom at 6 pm Pacific Time every Saturday evening. We start singing at 6:30 pm and we keep it going until the last person leaves. Feel free to come in anytime, and stay as long as you like. We run it kind of like a physical song circle. Everyone who wants to can sing once, and then we’ll do another round, and just keep going around as long as you like. Of course, it is totally fine to just listen and some people do. Misty Mamas play at the Birdfest & Bluegrass Festival. Music at the pub (Neighborhood Refuge) is free - Enjoy many fun and educational activities, food, and music at the festival! BirdFest & Bluegrass is a joint event planned in a partnership between the City of Ridgefield and the Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge to celebrate the Refuge, the community, and everything nature has to offer. BirdFest & Bluegrass includes birding activities at the Refuge, vendors, kids crafts, bluegrass performances, and a Pickers Festival.

Wichita is Pete Krebs and Lauren Sheehan

Groove-oriented free-range roots duo, Lauren Sheehan and Pete Krebs are known throughout the northwest for their fine instrumental prowess and vintage instruments, warm vocals, quirky repertoire and breadth of material, $20.

Collectively, they have over 70 years of performances and recording history, ranging from major festivals to house concerts, folk societies to dive bars. Expect guitars, lap steel, mandolin, harmony singing and, what ever else their fancy suggests that night, including a good time.

Newcomers‘ session at 7:00; dance from 7:30-10-30, admission: $6 - $20 sliding scale.

The First Sunday monthly song circle led by Cecilia Eng and Dave Mongeau will feature spooky songs.

Bring your songbooks, voices, and/or instruments for an afternoon of singing. A hat will be passed to defray the cost of the room. A small donation of $5 per person helps us pay for the location (a small open chapel down a short hallway to the right of the main narthex).

Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome. You are welcome to share songs from any genre.

Two Portland songwriting duos come together for an evening of alt-folk magic! Early start time @ 6 pm, $23.36 advance/ $28.60 at the door (prices include service fees). Wiley Coyote is two long-time local Portland songwriters and musicians, Dan Haley and Alexa Wiley. They provide lyric-driven vocal music supported by acoustic guitar(s), mandolin and harmonica with vocal harmonies and sometimes light percussion. Missi & Mister Baker is the wife/husband iteration of local roots rock band Mojo Holler. This songwriting pair weaves a tapestry of indie folk rock and blues. Mister Baker channels innate genius through lap steel, slide and acoustic guitars. Missi is a genuine Appalachian "Mountain Mama" whose vocals and percussion bring Southern heart and soul to each song.
