Deborah is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, actor, baker, cook, writer, Italian conversationalist, and former CASA (child advocate). She loves to listen to all kinds of music, including folk, jazz, bluegrass, country, Western swing, opera, blues, singer-songwriter, grunge, shoegaze, Celtic, and rock. She was a professional jazz vocalist in Portland for 15 years from the '80s to the '90s.
As a player, she leans toward folk music and has explored other genres: swing jazz and bluegrass. She sang folk music for years, including a 20-year stint as a vocalist in General Strike, a local band playing labor and union songs, before diverting to jazz. Somewhere in there she studied opera for two years.
She's lived in Portland over 40 years; and lived in Newport, Oregon, for four years in the early '70s, with a brief stop afterwards to live in Hawai'i for five months. She is a former President of PFS.
