About this event
Doors Open: 6:00 PM
Eliza Gilkyson, accompanied by the musical genius of Nina Gerber, returns to the Alberta Rose for an evening of music in support of her latest release Dark Ages, $37 advance (doors open 6 pm). Minors OK with parent/guardian.
Eliza is a twice Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and activist who is one of the most respected musicians in folk, roots, and Americana circles. Her songs have been covered by Joan Baez, Bob Geldof, Chris Smither, the world-renowned Conspirare Choir, Tom Rush, and Rosanne Cash and have appeared in films, PBS specials, and on primetime TV.
Nina has been an undeniable staple of the West Coast acoustic music scene since the late 70's. From the first time she heard Kate Wolf perform in a local pizza shop, the budding teenage guitarist single-mindedly dedicated herself to her instrument. Within a few years, she had won Wolf's respect and a place as her principal musical collaborator. From there, she built a career as a sought-after teacher, arranger, producer, and prolific accompanist to a veritable who's who of folk music royalty.
