About this event
The Legends of the Celtic Harp, $25 on-line/$30 door
Three of the premier Celtic harpers in the world, Patrick Ball, Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter have created a dramatic performance that takes the audience into the myths, magic, humor and fabled history of this most captivating instrument.
This show resurrects the lost art form of storytelling with a musical journey into the heart of this legendary instrument. The stories and music surrounding the Celtic harp, which goes back over a millennium, with Ball playing his distinctive, vintage wire-strung harp with Lisa and Aryeh on nylon-strung harps, as well as the rare Swedish Nyckelharpa, cittern and more.
The program's second half is given over to the elaborate telling, and musical illustrating of a story by Ursula K. Le Guin, "Gwilin's Harp," based on Ireland, circa 1000 A.D.
