Linda Allen is a songwriter with a passion for justice and a heart for healing. 2019 celebrates her fiftieth year as a professional musician, and she is commemorating this event with two new CDs: Into the Promise of Morning and Singing the News.
At Singtime Frolics Linda will give a mini-concert with selections from these CDs and from her ten previous recordings.
She'll offer two workshops reflecting her life's work:
Singing the News:
Linda will give an introduction to music of social change, and then open the song circle to everyone. Share a song you have written or love, a song that you feel changed hearts and minds, brought people together, shed light on a social condition, or helped us laugh or cry? Come be moved, amused, informed and inspired!
Voices of Compassion:
This workshop introduces the various ways music can be used to bring comfort and healing to those in our communities who may be lonely, ill or dying. There will also be time to share songs of hope and healing. Linda is a Certified Clinical Musician employed by Hospice of the Northwest. She founded Women with Wings and the Bellingham Threshold Singers.
